Beijing, June 18, 2009 - GEA received an order to design, manufacture and supply an Air
Cooled Condenser for the 1200 MW Guijao II coal fired power plant in the Shanxi province in
China. The order will be executed until 2010 and has a value of more than EUR 22 million.
The Air Cooled Condenser will be equipped with ALEX Air Cooled Condenser bundles which
will be manufactured at GEA’s factory in Langfang/China. Due to their lightweight construction
and the fact that no cooling water is used, GEA’s ALEX Air Cooled Condenser technology
represents an economically and ecologically sustainable solution.
“This new order continues GEA’s proven track record in the area of environmentally friendly
power plant cooling systems in China,” says Jürg Oleas, CEO of GEA Group
Aktiengesellschaft, who is also responsible for GEA’s Energy and Farm Technology Segment.
“It also shows, that China continues its ambitious power plant building program despite the
current economic situation. “
